New England Music & Stage Co. Ltd
exists to encourage collaboration between artists of different disciplines: primarily music
paired with theatre and dance. The organization was founded in 1994 as the result of a
successful production of Shakespeare’s
All’s Well that Ends Well featuring live music
performed on period instruments. Over the years, NEMS has:

•        Supported
Tapestry in the production of local and international programs

•        Co-produced theatrical works in Boston, New York, and Russia with the Stari Theatre
             and Theatre of Relativity

•        Produced - What do you see? - the debut recording for the medieval world fusion ensemble

•        Commissioned new music by local composers John McDonald, Steve Sanford, Patricia Van Ness, Robert
Kyr, James Falzone, Karl Henning, Margaret McAllister and Shira Kammen.

•        Provided production assistance to touring ensembles
Balmus and Le Bon Vent

•        Produced the Ordo Project for Tapestry, community women’s chorus and the Cambridge Rindge & Latin
             Modern Dance Company.
Ruthie Ristich is currently making a documentary about the project.
